Volusion Ugly Truths Revealed!

I always thought that people thought Volusion as the best e-commerce website builders, but I discovered that I was wrong after reading through several Volusion complaints on the internet.

You might ask, ” Is Volusion any good?” Yes, Volusion is offers many good things to the customers, but the company has many downside as well. The following are some of the ugly truths about this company:

Lacks actual website building features

This website builder is more appropriate for data-driven users. However, it does not have the exact website building traits.

Many customers have said that one should only use Volusion for the inventory and analytic features it provides and not for the customization or the web creation.

Such customer complaints show that Volusion is not the best company to turn to when you want to improve the layout of your website.

If you are looking for the infinite website features, you should check out the most advanced websites building platform like SiteRubix.

Does not sell digital products

With Volusion, it is not possible to sell digital products. It means that not all businesses can use this website builder. It restricts those who sell eBooks, music, or any other form of digital art.

Volusion does not have a blogging platform

One of the issues about Volusion is that it does not support the blogging function because it lacks such a platform. In the modern world, this function is a necessity for e-commerce builders.

Therefore, the lack of it is a problem, and it should raise an alarm. Blogs are very helpful in promoting products and services. They also assist in increasing your rank in search engines.

If you are looking for starting a blow for free, I recommend you check out My #1 Recommendation!

I think that the website builder should take the responsibility of linking your blog through the sub-domain because it consumes a lot of time.

One has to spend too much on SSL certificates

With the plans offered by Volusion, you have to buy the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, which are quite expensive because they cost approximately $99.

These certificates are a necessity because they protect the business website from fraud. With Volusion, you have to think about this expense, and this is a bad thing because the SSL comes as a standard on other platforms.

Customers Complaints

There’re dozens of customers about Volusion which include problem with products or service, billing and collection issues and poor customer services.

What I Like About Volusion

It is easy to use

When I first accessed the dashboard, I noticed that the interface was clean and easy to navigate. On this dashboard, customers receive awesome support videos and steps to follow in order to build their websites.

This means that they can easily choose a design, add a product, or upload their business logo. You can also view the status of your website.

It has lots of payment methods

One of the reasons why I would prefer Volusion over the other website building companies is the variety of payment gateways that it supports. These methods range from PayPal to Stripe.

If you are one of the more tech-savvy customers with digital wallet options such as Apple Pay and Amazon, you should not worry because Volusion will take care of you.

If you are using choices such as Square, it is essential to note that you need to integrate it with Zapier. However, completing the process is very easy.

This is another feature that makes Volusion suitable for selling products. It has the product videos option, which makes it amazing.

This e-commerce builder specifically provides this feature. You should take advantage of this product if you run any business with great visuals. A good example is the cloth retailer.

Another feature which makes Volusion better than its competitors is the “suggested products.” Other companies usually rely on third-party integrations to provide suggestions to their customers.

Effective template designs

Online store owners also need to know that Volusion offers eleven free themes and an extra thirty-four paid themes and each costs $180.

Recently, Volusion’s themes were updated, and they look better than they were before. Apart from appearance, these templates are also feature-specific.

Therefore, you have to select a theme that suits their businesses if they do not want to pick a design that is not focused on a specific industry.

Another thing that makes Volusion better than its competitors is that it lets the users change the templates anytime they want.

With this feature, it is possible to mix up your online store’s appearance without distressing about repopulating your content.

Affordable transactions

Did you know that there are no transaction fees when it comes to Volusion? Customers only incur the standard credit card charges that apply to each payment.

Another advantage that you enjoy from Volusion is the ability to personalize invoices and packing slips.

To do this, you only need your own logo and text. This is one of the features that will help your customers enjoy doing business with you.

Great analytic tools

It is correct to say that Volusion wants business runners to customize their stores as much as possible.

The company does this by supporting more than a thousand third-party apps through Zapier. These apps cover almost every function of the business, such as accounting and customer management.

It has a mobile app

Another fantastic thing about Volusion is that it has a mobile app that helps users manage their online stores efficiently from their phone.

The excellent mobile app also enables you to check the inventory, upload the product pictures from any location, and even update the prices of your products.

Excellent customer service

Volusion has a reliable help and customer support department. The company prefers making direct contact with its clients.

The management understands that customers can always experience some minor issues with their services because they are related to technology. To get solutions to any problems, you can call their support between 7 AM and 10 PM.

Any other plan apart from the personal plan comes with personal phone support. Those who have enrolled on the personal plan can get assistance online. The company always avoids emails because it prefers direct contact with its customers.

Is Volusion a Scam?

Despite Volusion being expensive, it is not a scam. As a website builder, the company uses the most extensive inventory to focus on data.

Additionally, it has excellent analytics tools to allow users to manage and scale their businesses smoothly.

Its unique strengths include suggested product features, the number of payment methods, and the product videos.

However, it has a low rating because it lacks a log option, the fact that you need to purchase an SSL separately and the confusing storefront. It might not be the best website builder in the market, but it sells very well.

Therefore, if you want to run a properly-organized online store with excellent inbuilt features, Volusion is the best option for you.

How I Make a Living Online

There are tons of ways to make money online. Affiliate marketing is one of them.

Affiliate marketing is a practice where affiliates earn market products for a different company or individual on the internet and earn a commission from each sale made.

This is one of the cheapest methods of marketing because the affiliate does not need to invent their own product. All that you do is act as the link between the buyer and the seller.

The more you push the sales, the more money you earn. Many companies these days offer affiliate programs where the affiliates get a unique tracking link by signing up for the program.

The first affiliate program is the Pay Per Click (PPC), where one makes money depending on the number of persons who visit the advertiser’s website through the affiliate site.

Secondly, Pay Per Sale (PPS) in which the affiliate earns money based on the total sales made.

Thirdly, Pay Per Lead (PPL) helps one to earn money online once a client provides their contact information on the affiliate’s website.

According to marketing experts, affiliate marketing is competitive as well as a passive source of income.

For you to make a lot of money through this marketing practice, you need to create a website, post informative content, use the best promotion strategies, know what to do and what to avoid, have patience, choose attractive products, use several traffic sources and select the right advertiser. After this, you should be ready to make money from home.

1 thought on “Is Volusion a Scam? Important Review Facts- Must Read!”

  1. If you only knew. I’ve been a Volusion customer for 14 years, and I can now say without reservation that I believe Volusion has turned into a scam. After many years and some price structure changes over those many years, I was signed up for their Business Plan at $299 per month. Shortly thereafter they changed the requirements of that plan to state that you couldn’t have more than $500K in gross revenue to be on that plan. Without my consent and without notifying me, they started charging around $1,000 per month. Just today I received an email (and then a chat, and then a phone call) from Volusion stating that my monthly fee would be going up to $1,950 per month beginning in August. They gave me 11 days notice of this 2x monthly fee increase. And the monthly baseline starting fee was already 3x what I had signed up for a couple years earlier. I’m guessing – and it is my opinion based on nothing but speculation – that Volusion is bleeding out due to all the viable, competent, compelling e-commerce platform alternatives available now, and they’re implementing a money grab before they completely go out of business. Just a guess. But I can tell you this – in the span of a couple of hours they just lost a customer that had been with them for 14 years. Now I’ve got 10 days to make a platform switch. I’ve been thinking about it for a few years (since Volusion has some severe limitations that I’ve just accepted out of laziness). Now I have more than enough incentive to finally make the change, so maybe I should be thankful that Volusion is forcing me out.
