Is Points2shop a Scam? The Truth Revealed Now!

Is Points2shop A Scam?

is points2shop scam

In the last few years, there have been too many websites popping out of nowhere promising online money-making opportunities for people all over the world. Most of the time, you will see these ads on the most popular social media sites. One of those sites that I am referring to earlier is called Points2shop. It is an online reward type website that, as the name suggests, rewards people for doing small tasks.

Take note that this is not the first rewards website that I’ve reviewed on this website. In fact, it’s probably my 20th review, I think. Nevertheless, I’ve reviewed too many programs with the same premise which makes me somewhat of an expert in determining whether they are good or bad – and that’s exactly what I am going to tell you in this article. I will give you my honest and unbiased opinion about this program to help you determine if it is for you or not.

But before the full review, I would like to point you to my most recommended program. This program does not belong to the same industry as Points2shop. It’s in an entirely different industry but it somehow relates to this, given that both are technically online money-making opportunities. If you want to learn more about this program I’ve been using for the past year to make good money, click down below.

My #1 Recommended Program

What Exactly Is Points2shop?

Points2shop, as I’ve said above, is a GPT (Get Paid To) website where you can earn rewards and cash by doing small tasks online, hence the term “Get Paid To,” as in get paid to do something.

Points2shop has been around since 2007 but only now is it trying to increase its global presence. It’s doing that by blasting ads all over the internet with catchy taglines like “earn money online easily.” I would be the first to tell you that while these claims are technically true, it’s actually not as easy as they make it sound. I will tell you all about it in the next section of this article.

But first, let’s discuss some of these tasks that you will be asked to do. They have the usual kind of tasks like surveys, offers, app installation, games, referrals, random contests, and many more. Their most popular task is obviously the survey. It also has the highest rate but it also takes the most amount of time to finish. Needless to say, all the tasks listed above are pretty easy to do. Now, the next question is if the work is actually worth it or not.

How Much Does Points2shop Pay?

You may label this as a copout answer but the answer is it depends. There are just too many factors that will determine how much can you earn, and it’s hard to consider them all being most of them are so random. For instance, the availability of surveys would depend on your location and demographic. If you happen to live in a city that is teeming with new surveys, you might get a lot of hits. But then again, you must also belong to the right demographic. So, suffice it to say, a lot of things boil down to your luck.

But to give you a figure, the payment for every survey hover from $0.20 to $3. I know that this is a huge range but as I’ve said, the figure depends on too many factors. It’s always going to be hard to give an average.

Now, if you are wondering if you can make an honest living out of this platform, I would say NO. A CAPITAL NO. There’s just no way for you to make a good living out of answering surveys. This program right here is best suited for people who are just looking to make money on the side. If you are looking for a part-time job, this isn’t it – this is far from it.

How Do You Get Paid?

Cash is paid through Paypal. The minimum payout threshold is $1 which is quite low compared to the industry’s average. You can be paid either by cash or points. The more desirable payment would be cash, of course. However, some gigs only pay in points, which you use to buy stuff on Amazon US, Canada, and the UK. Your points can’t be converted into cash, unfortunately. So this means that whatever points you earn, you can only spend on Amazon.

Few Quirks Of Points2shop

  • Pros Of Points2shop

There Is An Available Mobile App

They have a mobile app available on both Google Play and the App Store. You will actually earn $0.10 if you download the app regardless of where you get it from. Personally, I would suggest all users to download the app because the app has a better-looking interface. It’s easier to use, generally.

There Is A Dedicated Support

One good thing about Points2shop is they have a dedicated team of customer support that you can reach at a touch of a button. Too many similar websites do not have their own customer support which means that issues will linger instead of getting resolved immediately. In my personal experience though, it took their support team 3 days to respond when I emailed them about some sign-up questions.

It Is Available Worldwide

You can sign up no matter where you live in the world. However, there is a huge discrepancy in the number of gigs available in different countries. If you live in North America, chances are, you would have more gigs available. That’s just the way it is. If you’re outside the states, you would only get gigs sparingly, which is sort of ok if you are only looking for extra pocket money. Also, if you’re outside the US, you should only opt for cash payment because if you get rewards, you can only use that on Amazon US, UK, and Canada.

  • Cons of Points2shop

Their Website Is Complicated

If you are new to this kind of money-making opportunity, you might get overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that is on their website. Their mobile app is a bit more manageable and easier to understand but it’s also a tad bit confusing.

Rewards Only Useable on Amazon US, UK, and Canada

If you are outside these countries, you are in no luck since you can only use the rewards you earn on Amazon. Of course, you can still use your Amazon gift card even when you’re in another country but you would have to deal with tariffs and shipping issues that come with shipping items abroad.

Customer Support Is There But Is A Bit Slow

There is dedicated support but as I’ve said above, they’re a bit slow to respond. I can only imagine how slow their response would be should the question be about more complicated stuff.

Not A Stable Income

This is one of the main issues of all GPT (get paid to) websites. Sometimes you get many available jobs but most of the time, there is a very limited amount of work. I guess it’s okay if you are just looking for extra pocket money. Otherwise, it’s not a good money-maker at all.

Final Verdict – Is Points2shop A Scam?

Points2shop is definitely not a scam.

However, I must say that there are plenty of better websites out there. I’ve reviewed close to twenty GPT websites and I would probably place this one near the middle. It’s not good but it’s not that bad either. It’s just okay. So, if you’re going to straight-up ask me if I would recommend this, my answer would be a mellow YES. You can make use of this platform as a way to get extra pocket money. Install the app on your phone and opt for a notification whenever there is an available gig for you.
