Is InteleTravel A Scam? Is Making Money While Traveling Even Possible?

Is InteleTravel a Scam?

is inteletravel scam

If you are here, that means that you are looking for an honest review of InteleTravel. Someone probably introduced you to this platform with the promise of giving you the ability to earn money while traveling cheaply.

To be fair, it’s an intriguing premise that would make anyone consider it, at the very least. Traveling is a satisfying experience on its own right but the promise of earning a bit of money on the side while doing so makes it an even better experience. But as with all extravagant claims, there must be a huge catch – and that’s what we’re going to find out. We’re going to find that catch to see if it still makes this company worth your while.

But before we start this review, I would like to extend my congratulations to you. Yes, to you! The fact that you are here means that you made the first step into becoming a wise consumer. Not everyone has the foresight to research a company before they buy-in, and in my opinion, that is one of the stupidest things that you can do as a consumer. So, you being here, means that you have wisened up. Below’s the full review.

What Exactly Is InteleTravel?

InteleTravel is a Network Marketing company that sells travel tickets at a discount to people who want to travel, which is practically everyone. It also claims to help its users earn money while traveling. Now, you may be wondering how it does that? The answer is by selling travel packages or referring people to become a member of the company.

InteleTravel isn’t exactly a travel agency which can confuse a lot of people. Basically, it’s a networking company that mainlines travel packages as their sole item. Think of it as an MLM company but instead of the usual herbal product, the items they sell are travel-related.

I will link a video below showing a quick summary of what their company is all about. Granted, the video will not go into the details but it will provide you a basic understanding of what it is they’re trying to accomplish.

How To Get Started In InteleTravel?

As I’ve said above, InteleTravel is an MLM company that happens to be in the travel industry. But before you can sell any of their travel packages to your colleagues, you must buy their membership plan. I will put the pricing of their different packages down below:

  • InteleTravel Basic Fee – $179.95 one-time payment
  • Monthly Membership Fee – $39.95/month
  • Marketing Membership Fee – $19.95/month

This comes to about $60/month and a one-time membership payment fee of $180.

Once you have paid the one-time basic fee, you will have access to all their training modules. You will be given your own website/landing page. Basically, you will be given all the things that you need to be able to succeed in marketing this product.

How Can You Make Money From InteleTravel?

Just like other MLM companies out there, no matter their industry is, there are 2 ways in which you can make money.

  1. Earn directly from the number of tickets/travel packages that you sold. This one is self-explanatory. All you have to do is sell a product to your friends, colleagues, or even strangers, and you will gain a percentage of the total sale.

  1. Earn a commission by recruiting or referring people to become a travel agent or member of InteleTravel. This functions like a normal MLM recruitment system. You recruit someone into your downline and you get a commission of their sales. This has the potential to become a passive income if you have recruited the right kind of people who can effectively grow your network.

InteleTravel – Compensation Plan

InteleTravel, while being an MLM, does not follow the usual compensation plans of many MLM companies. I have noticed that it is more transparent than a lot of programs that I’ve reviewed in the past.

According to InteleTravel, they earn 8-16% of all the packages they sold. For the computation that I’ll be doing below, we’ll go with the middle 12%. From the commission that InteleTravel earns, the travel agent/member will be paid 75%.

To illustrate, I will give an example below.

Let’s use a good round number of $1000. For every $1000 that InteleTravel offers as a travel package, they earn just 12% from that. That comes out to (0.12 x $1000 = $120).

From the $120, 75% will be paid to the travel agent (0.75 x $120 = $90).

To make it easier for you to compute your commission down the line, you can directly consider a percentage from the price of the travel package. $90 / $1000 = 0.9 or 9%. 9% is your total commission. That figure isn’t exactly mind-blowing but it’s not bad either, especially when you consider that travel packages are worth more than $1000.

Compensation Plan For Your Downlines

I’ve only discussed the compensation plan from your direct sales. For the members under you (your downlines), you are also eligible for a commission. I will show you a computation down below to further illustrate.

You are eligible to receive 10% of the commission from your downlines. If your downline managed to sell the same deal, $1000. He/she gets $90.

And since you are his/her upline, you will also earn 10% of that, which equates to $9. Obviously, this isn’t a new compensation plan but it’s on the high side of things when compared to other MLM companies in different industries.

Honest Thoughts About InteleTravel

  • Strong Foundation As a Company

InteleTravel has over 28 years of experience as a company. It was founded in 1992 which means that it has stood the test of time. The fact that it’s still operating and thriving means that it is not a scam. I am confident enough to say that it is a legitimate company.

  • By Becoming A Member, You Are Also Eligible For Discount

If you are a frequent traveler, you can avail of their discounts more often than others. However, you must consider that this comes with a price, a one-time fee of $179.95 and $59.95/month.

  • No Monthly Sales Threshold

Most MLM companies today will give their members a minimum order requirement. They would revoke the membership if their members fail to reach the minimum amount of orders. To maintain membership, members would be forced to buy the items themselves. In my opinion, this is not a good model at all.

For InteleTravel, there is no monthly sales requirement. You will need to pay $59.95, to be fair, but it comes with many perks like discounts.

  • Delayed Payment

This is one of the biggest issues concerning InteleTravel. In their policy, their members have to wait 60 days before the commission is reflected on their profile. And that’s not all – the 60 days is actually the minimum wait time because you only get paid on the 15th of each month. This means that it’s possible for you to get paid only after 3 months. That’s a ridiculous amount of waiting time.

Conclusion – Is InteleTravel A Scam?

InteleTravel is not a scam, that much is obvious. It’s a good company that uses the basic principle of MLM to grow their business.

But just like any other MLM company, it suffers from the same issues. The biggest issue is you actually have to recruit heavily before you can make any money. In fact, according to their income statement from 2018, the average yearly income for their members is a measly $290.  I repeat, $290!

For reference, the membership fee is $180 one-time payment and $60/month. That $290 would hardly cover your annual membership fee, but I digress.

There are still people that can benefit from joining this program. Frequent travelers can certainly make use of this program when they are traveling. In turn, I can only recommend this program to frequent travelers who have the potential to maximize the benefits of this program.

A Good Alternative

To be perfectly honest, I’m not really a fan of MLM companies. While there are plenty of MLM companies that I like personally, there are far too many bad ones to give a good impression of the industry as a whole.

Instead, I usually steer my readers towards affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is the better version of MLM in my honest opinion. If there is one kind of marketing that I constantly recommend, it’s definitely this one. So, to complete this review, I would point you to the direction of the best product I’ve come across in my years as a marketer. I will put the link down below for you to visit directly.
