What Exactly Is Clickbank?

Clickbank is an online marketplace that connects sellers and buyers to facilitate the business transaction. The company was founded in 1998 as a middle middleman between digital content creators and affiliate marketers who then promote vendor’s products to consumers.

The platform is much like other affiliate network such as Commission Junction, ClickBetter, and others.

Clickbank also attracted more than 1,500,000 affiliates and paid out over 1.7 billion USD to its affiliate. The company had built its reputation on paying its affiliates on time.

Clickbank happen to be listed with the Better Business Bureau and has an A+ rating at the time of this review. Clickbank’s rank is an excellent rating. Receiving an A+ from BBB is a sign of a very trustworthy company.

Vendors Help- Resources for Vendors

Clickbank will do many of the hard work for you. Of receiving your fund, creating an invoice for payments and a lot of more. Clickbank is one of the main systems that you can do that.

However, you should put into consideration a few things. Your product is easy to get active in the Clickbank system. The activation costs $ 49.95.

This gives you just activation for your product to show on the marketplace. Once you sell a product you have $1, subtracted pay added to 7.5% of the sale price to Clickbank.

If you sell a product for $100, you will receive only $ 91.50. If you’ve set up 50% affiliate commission, but there remains $ 45.75 on the whole. Clickbank is too expensive when compared to other systems. Clickbank also uses a standard trial period of 30 days.

In which you refund the customer money within that duration for any flaws or complains. Even if the customer claims are wrong, you still have to comply.

Affiliates Help- Resources for Affiliates

If you work as an affiliate for the system of Clickbank, there is actually not much downside. Except for a large amount of products listed that doesn’t deliver what it promises on the marketplace.

Here’s a Quick Video About Affiliate Help.

Clickbank has little of control on products sold through their system. Because of this, there are a lot of “get rich quick” products on the marketplace, but also in other categories; we find many products of low quality in the marketplace that doesn’t deliver as promised.

At Clickbank, you have a so-called account balance where all payments are added together and subtracted by the fees. And you get paid when your account balance reaches the payout limit.

Clickbank offers herein opportunities for Paypal, bank transfer, and Payoneer. If you earn enough, you do not have to wait till eternity, as you may be paid biweekly.

You can immediately start making money in Clickbank. However, if your account is not active for a period of time, or maybe you do not sell for months. In such circumstance, Clickbank will charge the monthly fee.

You should, therefore, ensure that your account is active and you generate good sales. As An affiliate, you can buy with your affiliate link products and so can give yourself some kind of discount.

The promotion methods are numerous. So you can use e-mail, SEO, social media and more.

What I Like About Clickbank

  • No restriction in registration
  • Support for recurring payments
  • many affiliates
  • Many products (although large part of them are not good)
  • No limitation in product promotions
  • Easy to become a merchant
  • Money back guarantee

What I Don’t Like About Clickbank

  • Low-quality products that failed to delivered promises
  • Insufficient promotional tools
  • Monthly fees if an account is inactive or no sales
  • High refund rate

My Final Opinion On ClickBank

You get a product from a seller on Clickbank, you do have about 60 days money back guarantee. This is what is required by Clickbank to sell on the marketplace. Once the seller doesn’t comply you can easily notify the support (Clickbank) in such cases.

So Clickbank still acts as an intermediary, which still protect you to some extent from being scammed. Clickbank is not a scam and shouldn’t be view as one, as you get your money back if you are not satisfied with your purchase.

Do people offer products that do not meet specifications? Yes.
But that doesn’t make Clickbank illegal or a scam. Because they can’t control what the writer is writing and they help the customer get their money back if the product does not deliver its promises.

If you have any questions, concerns or want to offer insight about Clickbank, leave a message below and I love to hear about it.

Thanks for reading.

All the best.

  1. Hello Maun, thank you for your ClickBank review. It is quite informative.
I smiled when I saw your review title. I have shopped at Click Bank for a number of years now. As you rightly said, some of the products there are not what the owners claim and make them out to be. I have experienced not getting replies from vendors once you email them. The good thing is that once you file that you desire a refund, and stand your ground, the vendor has to comply.

I look forward to the day when Click Bank can find a way to vet some of these useless products before they go on display. Personally I would not promote any product there without knowing the product for myself and that the vendor/s is/are regarded as reputable. There are some big names of vendors there and it could tarnish them too.

Maun do you know what Click Bank charges for affiliates are? You have listed the cost to vendors. How much does Click Bank charge the affiliate as monthly fees for not selling? Does this fee applies before the affiliate makes their first few sales to reach the $100 mark?

Thank you for a good review.

    • Hi EJ, thank you for remind me to include ClickBank affiliate fees.

In Clickbank, accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of no earnings, $5 per pay period after 180 days of no earnings, and $50 per pay period after 365 days of no earnings.
Me personally Clickbank account had no sale for a long time when I started out ,but Clickbank didn’t charge fees because I had zero balance in my account.
      Hope this will help.

Thanks for your complete review about fees with ClickBank. Can you give a comparison of JVZoo V Clickbank for an affiliate? Fees etc. This would be most helpful.
    Thank you

    • Hi John,
Both programs are free to join. There are no charges to affiliates. They charge you when you make a sale.

Clickbank charges 7.5% Plus $1 commission on all completed sales. JVZoo takes 5% commision on all completed sale.

I was not aware of the charges that you may be charged for if the account is dormant. Since so much of this is new to me I still don’t understand how part in the video where they talk about affiliates and vendors.
