If you’ve been trying to find some information on this company, you might have noticed that there’s very little information readily available. For most, you may suspect a scam, and that’s why I gathered all the information for you.

What is AppCoiner All About?

Created in 2014, AppCoiner is a program that has been advertising heavily on work-from-home and passive-income forums.

If you’ve seen one of their ads, or possibly watched the “informational” video located on the AppCoiner website, AppCoiner may seem like a pretty simple system.

According to AppCoiner, you’ll be paid to test applications from your mobile phone. As advertised on the site, you should be able to expect to make anywhere from $15 to $25 per review you complete, making some immediate cash once they pay out weekly.

Here’s a Short Video on Appcoiner.

After some digging, it seems there are a few things AppCoiner forgot to mention, which we’ll get to later.

In theory, AppCoiner does not represent itself to be a get rich quick scheme. They advertise that you simply make as much money as you want, as your revenue will be a direct relation to how many reviews you put out.

In layman’s terms, the more reviews you pump out, the more money you’re looking at making. AppCoiner explains their business pretty simply.

When an application is launched in a marketplace, they need to have an edge to put them ahead of the competition.

AppCoiner was, supposedly, designed to help these small applications out. When you leave an honest review, you’re supposed to be helping these companies get noticed. At least, that’s what AppCoiner wants you to believe.

Once I peeled back the layers, it’s pretty easy to see that this website is actually a thinly veiled affiliate marketing program.

One of the largest red flags for AppCoiner is how secretive it is about who actually owns the company.

For those who plan on doing business online, whether you’re looking to replace your 9-to-5 or just looking to make some beer money it’s almost never a good idea to work with companies who are not completely transparent about who they are.

Even when I went to the website to look for the “Contact Us” information, I was only taken to a relatively useless helpdesk, offering no real information on who I should direct a question to or who it is that I’m supposed to be in business with.

Their website does reveal, however, that you’ll largely be dealing with a company known as ClickBank, an affiliate marketing company located in Boise, Idaho.

Who is it for?

In terms of who this program is designed for, the company has done a really good job marketing. In general, AppCoiner is meant for anyone who is looking to make a part-time income from their smart devices.

This typically means the program is targeted towards students, stay-at-home parents, or freelancers who may be looking to supplement their income.

Because of the relatively hands-off approach of AppCoiner, it has drawn quite a bit of chatter in the work-from-home community, especially for those looking to make a form of passive income.

Pros and Cons of AppCoiner

As with any website, there are some positives that come with all the negatives of this AppCoiner review.

Once you’re aware that AppCoiner is actually an affiliate marketing program and not an app testing program, you’ll be able to see the site for what it actually is and be aware of the pros and cons of it.

To make it simple, I’ve created some lists for you to demonstrate the biggest pros and cons of this site.

Pros:

You can earn money through the program.

When you first visit the AppCoiner website, one of the resources that will be pushed on you is an income calculator, which calculates that you can make $11,000 a year off of a few reviews a day.

While this would be great and may be possible for one in a billion people it’s also highly misleading. Since this is affiliate marketing, it’s important to remember that there’s no way for anyone to predict what you can make.

Someone may read your review, buy the app, and make you a couple cents, or your review may never be read.

Alternatively, it is important to know that you can make some money off of this program, it just won’t be as much as they’d like you to believe.

Refund option if you don’t like the program.

To me, this is probably one of the biggest pros for AppCoiner. They offer a 60-day money back guarantee, which means you can try it out harm-free.

While some say they had trouble getting their money back, others have said it’s a breeze. All in all, the option could be really useful for those who are interested in getting started in affiliate marketing.

Open globally.

For those who reside outside of the US, you’ll know that it can be tricky to find programs which are open to everyone. Luckily, AppCoiner is open to everyone across the globe, and when you combine that with their money-back guarantee, it means anyone in the world can try their program out with little risk.

Cons:

You will have to pay a membership fee in order to start earning money from AppCoiner.

In general, most people recommend staying away from websites that require you to pay money in order to make money.

For AppCoiner, you’re required to pay a flat fee in order to access these affiliate partners, something which you can do on your own.

When you consider the fact that you’re not guaranteed to make any money at all off of this website or your reviews, it feels awfully suspicious that they’d require you to pay their fee.

You will need to have your own website in order to post your reviews.

This is something that is not advertised upfront by AppCoiner and is easily the biggest hurdle when trying to make money with them.

AppCoiner’s advertising would have you believe that you’re logging into their platform to leave your review. The truth is, you’ll need to have your own website already up and running before ever accessing AppCoiner.

For those who were hoping to just log into the website, post your review, and make some spending money for the weekend, you may need to look for something else.

You largely earn money through affiliate links on your website.

Similar to the above point, all of your income will come from your website. You will not be paid a flat fee for each review, which is what AppCoiner tries to make it seem like.

You will only ever be paid through their affiliate programs meaning, you’ll only make money when someone goes to your website, reads your review, clicks on your affiliate link, and then makes an in-app purchase.

The information on the website is incredibly misleading, and the idea that you’re going to be paid a flat-rate for your reviews is the biggest misrepresentation.

Majority of apps in the system are Android.

While the earning potential is already limited due to the above points, it’s also important to mention that there have been some complaints from iPhone users.

Based on recent complaints, there are far more affiliate links available for those testing on an Android device instead of an iOS device.

How the System Works

When you first visit AppCoiner’s website, one of the first things they advertise is that it’s a “three-step program to make money”.

According to AppCoiner, all you’ll have to do is choose an app from their database that you would like to test, write your totally honest review, and then cash in.

Really, it’s important to remember that this is simply an affiliate marketing program for applications. While it’s advertised that you’re testing apps, it would be more accurate to say that you’re advertising for these major companies.

The hope is that your review will gain some traction and get attention, and then encourage all of your regular website visitors to purchase the app, allowing you to actually cash in.

I’ve mentioned a few times that this is really a thinly-veiled affiliate marketing program, but there are a few out there who are unaware of what affiliate marketing actually is.

To put it simply, this is a deal between you and a company, allowing you to make some money whenever someone uses your link to make a purchase.

One of the most popular affiliate marketing partners is Amazon, meaning you may have seen some affiliate marketing links for this major retailer while browsing your favorite blogs.

AppCoiner uses the exact same program, although it’s never officially disclosed how much you can make per in-app purchase.

For those who are still interested in the system, it’s pretty simple to get started. Once you sign up for the website, you’ll be brought to a page which will allow you to access a list of apps available for download and review.

Once you’ve downloaded and used the app sufficiently, you’ll be prompted to write your review using your very own referral link. Once you’ve got your review up on your blog and have included your referral link, all that’s left to do is wait for people to use your link.

Appcoiner Support Service

Apart from the highly misleading marketing for this program, my second biggest problem is with the lack of support. When I was looking to get started, I searched the website for any type of contact information for anyone.

Whether it was a support team or an owner, I was looking for someone I could send my concerns or questions to.

When you go www.appcoiner.com, there is a “Contact Us” option in the menu bar; however, this only leads you to a helpdesk instead of a traditional contact page.

As I’ve mentioned before, no one seems to really know who actually owns or manages the website.

While normally I would just access the helpdesk and search for some frequently asked questions, there was no information available when I used the search bar. To me, this is a huge red flag.

If it’s this hard to get ahold of the owner before you’ve invested money, I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to contact them for a refund.

When it comes to actually getting support to help you be successful, there’s also very little support. The vast majority of people are signing up for this website without actually knowing what affiliate marketing is, meaning they will not be successful.

Most affiliate marketing programs offer some level of coaching to help you be successful. After all, they’re only successful if you’re successful. AppCoiner, on the other hand, mostly leaves you to your own devices.

While there are some videos available to help new users understand what affiliate marketing is, a few videos is simply not enough.

All in all, the support especially considering you’re paying money to access the site is seriously lacking when compared to the competitors.

How Much Does AppCoiner Cost?

Now that we know exactly what AppCoiner is — and what it is not! — it’s time to get into the actual payment part of it.

When you visit the AppCoiner website for the first time, it’s not explicitly stated that you’ll have to pay a fee in order to access the apps.

Once you get into the sign-up process, and the method of payment finally arises, you’ll probably be brought to the same “deal” most of us have been brought to.

AppCoiner states that the original price for the program is $47; they also mention that they’re doing you a huge favor by lowering the price to $27. While this may seem like a good deal, don’t let it fool you.

I have yet to find a single person who has had to pay the full $47 amount, and I would suspect this is just a sales tactic to try to pressure you into buying.

I will, however, give credit where credit is due: AppCoiner does offer a full refund option, which means you have little to lose by trying out this program.

Here’s What I Really Think

Now that we’ve finally gone over exactly what AppCoiner can offer you, it’s time to give my final verdict.

If you’re going into AppCoiner with the assumption that you’ll make millions through testing applications on your phone, you’re going to be disappointed.

If you don’t already have a website and a fanbase, I can’t imagine this being a worthwhile effort either.

Now, for those who already have a side blog with a bit a following, this could possibly be a worthwhile endeavor, even if it’s only to get your feet wet in the affiliate marketing world.
